Get ready to welcome Salalah New City to the Sultanate soon.

Oman has long been a top choice for people from the UAE looking for a quick getaway. With stunning resorts, breathtaking views, and diverse dining options, it’s always a treat to cross the border for a sophisticated escape. But now, the Sultanate has something extra special in store for you – Salalah New City.

Situated just a two-hour flight from Dubai — or a 12-hour road trip- Salalah is already a firm favourite, especially during the monsoon season. The city has proven its appeal, and now it’s gearing up to welcome even more with a major transformation. Thanks to the ambitious waterfront redevelopment master plan designed by Sasaki, the city is set to become a modern hub blending residential, retail and leisure spaces with breathtaking natural landscapes.

Salalah New City

The Salalah New City waterfront development is a key component of Oman Vision 2040 to diversify the economy and enhance tourism. Once ready, it will include 12,000 residential units across four pedestrian-friendly neighbourhoods. Expect parks and open spaces that emphasise sustainable and green living. With a retail and hospitality space, bringing in new hotels, restaurants, and shopping experiences, this location is guaranteed to be a hit.

The Salalah New City will also be home to a new, pedestrianised marina, providing a scenic, car-free waterfront experience. A six-kilometer-long public beach, along with two new hospitals and transport links, is also on the agenda.

Designed with climate resilience in mind, the development includes a wetland park to manage flooding, especially during the khareef season.

Construction on the Salalah New City waterfront development is set to begin in mid-2025, with the first phase delivering over 5800 residential units. With its mix of stunning landscapes, urban design, and climate-conscious planning, Salalah New City is poised to become an ideal and picturesque seaside escape.
