The island is expected to welcome guests starting in 2028.
Saudi Arabia’s transformation is impossible to ignore. The Kingdom is ensuring that all corners of the country are ready to welcome guests. And one of its most interesting developments is the Red Sea. The project has been making waves globally, adding yet another jewel to its crown with the announcement of Laheq Island.
Located off the Kingdom’s western coastline, Laheq Island is the latest addition to the region’s archipelago. It’s poised to be the first island in the region that’s focused on resort-style living and private residential ownership.

Laheq Island is surrounded by the world’s fourth-largest barrier reef and an ecosystem that includes over 2000 marine species. Preserving this natural formation and population, residents can expect to be treated to views of the waters, the option to explore its aquatic life, and savour a selection of beautiful beaches to accompany the island’s luxury living.
Designed by the world-renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners, Laheq Island embraces the theme “Forever Garden”. Expect lush plant life and sustainable architecture that blends with the land, sea and sky. The centrepiece of the island is The Ring – an 800-meter diameter structure that wraps around the island’s lagoon. Luxury apartments, retail outlets, and hotels will find a spot here.

Laheq Island will be home to two luxury resorts catering to different vibes — one would be a serene wellness-focused property, whereas the other has been designed for adventure-seekers. These will total up to 300 keys. The island will also offer private residences in the form of 500 private villas and 300 condos, each with canopies and courtyards.
Laheq Island will be home to a 115-berth marina. On land, it’ll have a racket club, a fitness centre, sports fields, a park, and an 18-hole golf course.

Beyond accommodation and action, Laheq Island’s souq promises a sensory feast. While the island’s dining concepts will highlight the best cuisine from around the world. Expect regional favourites and fresh ocean catches to grace the menus.
Laheq Island is set to open in 2028.
