The actor has created a marvellous musical performance for the city.


Riyadh Season has welcomed the biggest stars from around the world, from singers to sports stars. Now, it is set to welcome the award-winning actor, Anthony Hopkins. The date and details have not yet been confirmed, but here’s what we do know. 

Minister and Chairman of General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al Shaik, shared a clip on Twitter. Anthony can be seen in the video at the world-famous recording studios, Abbey Road Studios. He states: “Thank you your excellency. I am enjoying the process of making the music for Riyadh in a few months’ time. Thank you from here in Abbey Road”. 

Anthony Hopkins will deliver an unforgettable concert experience for Riyadh Season. The actor has composed a series of musical masterpieces aptly titled “Life is a Dream,” which will be performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the expert baton of Maestro Matthew Freeman on Friday, 17 January 2025. Although, the exact location and ticketing details have not yet been revealed.

Anthony Hopkins hails from Port Talbot, Wales. He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He starred on stage in Shakespeare plays, including Coriolanus, King Lear, and Macbeth. He has also starred in the films Amistad, Nixon, Shadowlands, The Father, and The Remains of the Day. 

Anthony is best known for his role as Hannibal Lecter in the 1991 film, The Silence of the Lambs. He won an Academy Award for his role in the film, which saw him playing a cannibalistic serial killer.

Riyadh Season 2024 kicked off on 12 October and continues into early 2025. This year’s edition will bring the best arts, culture and entertainment to the capital with 14 entertainment zones, 11 global championships, 10 festivals, and numerous exhibitions. Highlights include a Christian Dior exhibition called Designer of Dreams at Al Murabba National Museum and a 25,000-square-metre Harry Potter Experience.

The Anthony Hopkins “Life is a Dream” concert will also be broadcast live on MBC1 at 9:30pm Saudi time.
