Saudi Arabia is turning up the volume on its music revolution. And with the biggest names from the music world heading to the Kingdom, things are looking great. Now, the latest name heading to Riyadh is rap legend A$AP Rocky, who’ll be performing as part of MDLBeast Soundstorm 2024.

Born Rakim Athelaston Mayers, A$AP Rocky is a rapper, record producer, and fashion icon. He rose to fame as part of the Harlem-based collective A$AP Mob. His critically acclaimed 2011 mixtape, Live. Love. A$AP, propelled him to mainstream recognition. His debut studio album, Long. Live. A$AP was released in 2013 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

Rocky’s distinct style, blending hip-hop with alternative influences, caught the attention of the music industry, and he has collaborated with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna (with whom he is also in a relationship) and Skepta. He has released several successful albums, including “At.Long.Last.A$AP” (2015) and “Testing” (2018). His hits include Everyday, Multiply, Praise The Lord (Da Shine) and Sundress.

Beyond music, A$AP Rocky has ventured into other creative endeavours. He has modelled for high-fashion brands and launched his own clothing line. He has also dabbled in acting, appearing in films like “Dope” (2015) and “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” (2017). The rapper previously performed in the Kingdom in March 2024 as part of the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after race concerts.

MDLBeast Soundstorm is a music festival annually held in Riyadh. Now in its fifth edition, the event has become a permanent fixture of Saudi Arabia’s entertainment calendar. Year after year, it attracts the who’s who of international and regional artists.

This year’s lineup is already a star-studded affair featuring the likes of David Guetta, Eminem, Jason Derulo and Linkin Park — who will also be making their debut in Saudi Arabia.
