Riyadh is raising the roof. The new restaurant The Roof has opened above Al Mamlaka Social Dining in the capital’s Kingdom Centre. Located in Al Olaya, the aptly named rooftop restaurant specialises in eastern Mediterranean food, from mezzes to mains. So, if you’re looking for a statement spot, here’s what you need to know.
The Roof in Riyadh is photo-ready, thanks to its Insta-worthy views of the Kingdom Tower. The venue boasts an elegant design with brown wooden features, white umbrellas, green seats, and pretty plants. Great for groups and solo diners, tables range from curved banquettes to countertop seats. Watch the mixologists create innovative mocktails, or watch the sunset with a 360-degree view over the city.
Don’t worry about the weather. The Roof in Riyadh has outdoor heating, so you can warm up in the winter. Plus, it adds a theatrical glow at night, when the lights go down and the flames are burning
The food menu at The Roof spans mezze, salads, soups, mains, sides and desserts. Mezze includes Hummus, Labneh and Zucchini Baba. Mains include Armenian Shish, Curry Shish and Shish Taouk. Salads range from Freekeh with cabbage, pomegranate and spinach to Sucrine with cucumber pickle, dill and onion. Desserts include Chocolate Raspberry Cake, Date Pudding and Kunafa Pistachio Cake.
The Roof in Riyadh offers a variety of mocktails. Midnight in Riyadh, which features blueberries and lavender, pays homage to the city. Other drinks include a Passionfruit Margarita, pina rita, and Strawberry Negroni.
The Roof in Riyadh is open from Sunday to Thursday from 1pm to 1am, and Friday to Saturday from 1pm to 3am.
