The world’s largest oasis will promote premium farm-based tourism.
Saudi Arabia has been welcoming world-class hotel brands. Now, the homegrown hospitality group, Dan Company, has announced the launch of Tuaja Luxury Resorts. Located in Al Ahsa, Eastern Province, the resort will showcase eco-tourism, from agriculture to ecological experiences. The resorts will open in 2030, and here’s what to expect.
Tuaja Luxury Resorts aims to offer an alternative tourism option in Saudi Arabia. The experiences will connect guests with the Kingdom’s culture and landscapes, all in a more sustainable way.
At the heart of Tuaja Luxury Resorts are three experiences: Tuaja Adventure Resort, Tuaja Eco Resort and Tuaja Premium Farm Resort. The adventure experience is designed for thrill seekers, and includes outdoor activities. The eco-resort experience will include health and beauty services using natural products and innovative techniques. The farm experience showcases the beauty of nature, agricultural experiences and farm-to-table cooking.
Abdulrahman Abaalkhail, CEO of Dan Company, explained “With a vision to create rich and unforgettable experiences that connect guests to the Kingdom’s stunning natural landscapes, culture, and hospitality, Tuaja Luxury Resorts will introduce brand-new one-of-a-kind hospitality experiences, rooted in sustainability and setting a remarkable precedent in the region’s hospitality industry.
“Each resort is meticulously designed to offer unique and immersive experiential activities, promising a harmonious blend of luxury, nature, and unforgettable moments for our guests. Through a business model focused cultural authenticity, sustainability, and community empowerment, we are creating an ecosystem that contribute to the Kingdom’s broader economic and tourism objectives.”
Each property aims to create memorable experiences for all, featuring nature gardens, an amphitheatre, dining and retail options, and a farmers’ market. This holistic approach ensures that visitors can fully immerse themselves in the local culture and community while enjoying modern amenities.
These hotels are part of a 1.8 million square-metre master development aimed at creating a premium farm-based tourism destination. With lush surroundings and locally sourced produce, guests can immerse themselves in the charm of rural life while enjoying world-class hospitality at Al Ahsa.
Al-Ahsa boasts the title of the world’s largest oasis. More than 2.5 million palm trees sprawl across the region, producing over 100,000 tons of dates annually. Nicknamed “Hajar,” meaning “stone” in Arabic, due to its ancient, naturally occurring structures, Al-Ahsa boasts a rich history dating back to the Neolithic era. Al-Ahsa is also known for its historical significance. The Al-Ahsa Oasis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised for its cultural and agricultural significance.
