The UAE’s first pro surfing event comes to the capital – and it’s free to watch.
Surf Abu Dhabi is already causing a splash. Located on Hudayriyat Island, the venue is home to the world’s largest artificial wave, park, velodrome and a range of restaurants. Now, it is set to host the UAE’s first pro surfing event, The Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic. The competition runs from 27 to 29 September, and is free to attend.

The event has already taken place in iconic surf destinations, from Bells Beach in Australia to Huntington Beach in California. In October, the champion will be crowned at the final event in El Salvador.
The Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic brings together 48 male and female elite surfers. Watch as they battle it out for points in the race for the world title. Visitors can enjoy more than eight hours of world-class surfing action. Plus, there are dedicated fan areas, from food trucks to a rooftop bar.
