American superstar Dave Chappelle is coming to Abu Dhabi Comedy Season

It’s time to have a laugh in the capital. Abu Dhabi Comedy Season is about to begin with a lineup that includes Trevor Noah, Kevin Hart, Jo Koy and Pete Davidson. Now, the comedy superstar Dave Chappelle has joined the party and will perform at Etihad Arena on Friday, 27 June.

Dave hails from Washington DC, United States. He grew up in Maryland and was inspired by the comedians Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. He created and starred in the satirical show, Chappelle’s Show. He also starred and produced Dave Chappelle’s Block Party. He has appeared in the films A Star is Born, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and The Nutty Professor. 

Over his career, he has won six Emmy Awards and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humour. On Netflix, viewers can catch his comedy specials Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones, The Closer and The Dreamer. Plus, 8:46 was released after the murder of George Floyd, and explores violence against African Americans. 

Dave Chappelle’s comedic voice fuses raw personal insight with sharp social commentary, adding a bold, thought-provoking edge to American comedy. His fearless approach to tackling complex societal topics—balanced with sharp wit and disarming honesty—has earned him a devoted global following. He’s also a six-time Grammy winner for Best Comedy Album.

Abu Dhabi Comedy Season is putting together a star-studded line-up. South African funnyman Trevor Noah will perform on 26 April. American actor and comedian Kevin Hart will perform on 2 May. Plus, the line-up includes Michael McIntyre on 10 May, Jo Koy on 29 May, Pete Davidson on 25 June and Bill Burr on 12 July. This is the second time Dave Chappelle has showcased his talents in Abu Dhabi, following a sold-out show last year in which he performed to over 14,000 people.

Tickets to see Dave Chappelle in Abu Dhabi are available via the Live Nation pre-sale from 8am on 15 April, and via general sale from 8am on 16 April.
