Abu Dhabi is welcoming a brand-new hotel, Mondrian Abu Dhabi. Ennismore has partnered with Al Hazoom Group, and unveiled Mondrian’s first hotel in the United Arab Emirates. Scheduled to open in 2025, here’s what to expect from the cool new hotel.
Mondrian Abu Dhabi will be located in the downtown area near the Abu Dhabi canal. The hotel will boast waterfront views overlooking both Reem Island and Maryah Island, providing direct views of the capital’s skyline.
The hotel spans 210 rooms, spanning 15 floors, each offering views over the Abu Dhabi canal. Visitors will have six food and beverage venues to choose from, which include a crystal-clear lagoon in the sun, the first branch of Italian restaurant Fi’lia in the capital, and a late-night lounge called Palais Doumani. The Insta credentials are real, as the hip hotel includes ocean views and an infinity pool. Plus, lounges and daybeds will surround the water’s edge.
Mondrian prides itself on being a lifestyle brand, which mixes culture with hospitality. Mondrian Abu Dhabi’s facilities include the first branch of the FACT award-winning Ciel Spa in the capital, a rooftop swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness area, a kids’ club and a shopping area. Plus, business travellers can take advantage of the glittering ballroom and bold, fuschia meeting room.
The hotel has been designed by award-winning interior architect Tristan Du Plessis. We’re expecting great things, as he is behind hospitality hits, which range from MeatCo at Madinat Jumeirah to SĀN Beach on Palm West Beach in Dubai. The architect’s aim is to create a clean, contemporary aesthetic, which pays tribute to the Middle East location while integrating the warmth and comfort embedded in the DNA of all Mondrian properties.
