Get ready for some nineties nostalgia.

It’s time to party like it’s 1999. The nineties acts, Blackstreet and Shaggy, are coming to Dubai. The pair will perform at the Coca-Cola Arena on 11 May, and tickets are available now.

The reggae singer and rapper Shaggy hails from Kingston, Jamaica. When he was 18 years old, he moved to New York with his mother. He worked in the United States Marine Corps and went on to pursue a career in music.

In 1993, Shaggy released his first song, Oh Carolina. His music combines dancehall, reggae and hip-hop. His hit songs include Angel, Boombastic, It Wasn’t Me and That Girl. He has collaborated with Eve, Rayvon and RikRok. Over his career, he has sold more than 40 million albums and scored eight singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

The R&B group Blackstreet were founded by Chauncey “Black” Hannibal and Teddy Riley. The line-up includes Chauncey, Levi Little, Mark Middleton and Eric Williams. The group’s hit songs include Don’t Leave Me and (Money Can’t) Buy Me Love.

Famous for their mix of soul and hip-hop, their most famous song is No Diggity. The 1996 smash hit featured Dr Dre and Queen Pen. The song was at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to win a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. The song has been featured on countless lists: it ranked at number 90 on Rolling Stones and MTV’s 100 Greatest Pop Songs and number 32 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s. Today, it has more than 365 million views on YouTube and 754 million streams on Spotify.
