From the streets of London’s Mayfair to Downtown Dubai.

LSL Capital, the hospitality firm behind the FACT award-winning Jamavar Dubai, has brought the upmarket Chinese concept MiMi Mei Fair with them from London to Dubai.

Located at Address Opera Residences, MiMi Mei Fair Dubai is imagined as the clandestine abode of Empress MiMi. The name “mì mì,” translating to “secret” in Mandarin, encapsulates the restaurant’s opulence and mystique.

Drawing inspiration from Beijing’s Forbidden City, 1920s Shanghai, and ancient Chinese folklore, the interiors of MiMi Mei Fair combine sophistication and storytelling, inviting guests into Empress MiMi’s imagined world. Visitors begin their journey in The Parlour, where traditional Wedgewood blue panels, vibrant Chinoiserie murals, and coral lacquer accents create an elegant ambience. Moving further, The Library showcases emerald-green and black silk walls, evoking a fusion of English charm and late 19th-century Chinese refinement. For private dining, The Peacock Room enchants with hand-painted silk wallpaper and an ornate mantelpiece. Meanwhile, The Moon Bar, inspired by the mythical Jade Rabbit of the moon, dazzles with art deco sophistication, leading to The Garden Terrace, a serene space offering breathtaking views of the Burj Khalifa.

The menu at MiMi Mei Fair Dubai pays homage to the diverse culinary traditions of Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Diners can indulge in either à la carte selections or curated tasting menus designed for sharing and feasting, highlighting the vibrant flavours of regions like Sichuan, Fujian, and Hunan.

Signature dishes include the Apple Wood-Fired Roasted Peking Duck, served with crispy skin, homemade pancakes, and house-made condiments. Seafood enthusiasts can savour the Live Native Lobster prepared steamed, braised, or wok-fried; the Black Pepper Crab, coated in crushed pepper and garlic flakes; or the Singapore Chili Prawns, paired with sambal chilli and sesame mantou cigars. Meat lovers will enjoy the Angus Beef Short Rib, glazed with char siu sauce, and the Wok-Fried Silk Road Lamb, accented with red chilli, leek, and scallion.

“Dubai’s dining scene is among the most dynamic in the world, and we are delighted to introduce MiMi Mei Fair as our second concept in this vibrant city,” said Samyukta Nair, Co-Founder of LSL Capital. “My love for Chinese cuisine, art, and culture was deeply influenced by my time living and studying in China, and it has since become a creative passion. With MiMi Mei Fair, I sought to craft a dining experience that honours the beauty, mystery, and richness of Chinese culinary traditions while embracing Dubai’s contemporary vibrancy.”

MiMi Mei Fair opened in London’s Mayfair in 2021, instantly cementing its stature as one of the best Chinese restaurants in the UK capital. MiMi Mei Fair Dubai officially opens its doors on Thursday, 12 December.
