The team behind One Life is expanding in the UAE. Located in Dubai’s burgeoning Alserkal Avenue, The Growhouse will open soon and focus on sustainability. The venue will be home to a café and an indoor farm.
The design for The Growhouse draws its inspiration from Al Quoz’s industrial legacy. The aesthetic is industrial chic with exposed piping, high ceilings, grey walls and greenery that adds a touch of colour. The space will include communal tables and has been designed by Fadi Sarieddine Design Studio.
One Life currently has venues in D3 and Jumeirah Village Circle. The Growhouse will operate in partnership with the UAE-based sustainable solutions provider, LetitGRO. With an indoor farm built on the upper level, the venue will grow ingredients on-site, adding a truly zero-mile element to the menu and offering an immersive farm-to-fork experience. The installation will include a regenerative biodiversity system. Plus, they will work with the local company, The Waste Lab, to convert food waste into a resource.
With a kitchen three times larger than its sister branches, the Alserkal location will also become the brand’s catering headquarters. The menu, curated by co-founder Kelvin Kelly, will feature exclusive dishes created specifically for the Alserkal crowd, all aligned with One Life’s scratch-made, sustainable philosophy. The Growhouse will also serve as a community hub, hosting public workshops and events centred around sustainability, food, and wellness, all of which are bookable through the café.
Necip Camcigil, Founder of One Life, stated: ““Our journey to open in Alserkal Avenue began in 2014, when we were deciding between Alserkal and Dubai Design District. Ten years later, we’ve come full circle and are excited to now have a home in Alserkal, alongside our locations in d3 and JVC. The journey restarted in February 2023, when a visit to Alserkal Avenue reminded us what a fantastic place it is to spend time in. We are committed to giving back to the community by inspiring people and sharing what we’ve learned to reduce waste, recycle, and grow our own food.”

Bkry offers inventive pastries and speciality coffees, Kokoro introduces the UAE’s first hand roll bar, LILA Molino + Café brings authentic Mexican flavours to life, and Nightjar Coffee Roasters stands out with its FACT award-winning artisanal brews. Chef Lynn Hazim is also bringing Middle Child to the complex very soon.
