The FACT Award-winning chef’s next venture is in the soft opening phase.
We love homegrown concepts. So, we were excited to hear that FACT’s Chef of the Year 2022, Reif Othman has opened his new restaurant, Hoe Lee Kow. Located in Dubai Hills, it offers an innovative Korean BBQ experience.
Reif Othman’s culinary empire includes Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in both the UAE and Egypt. His latest venture offers a Korean-inspired menu, which covers an unconventional live table BBQ experience. We spotted dishes ranging from grilled meat to small sharing plates. The tagline states: “Food that makes you go, Hoe Lee Kow, that’s good”.
Hoe Lee Kow is a cool, contemporary spot. The venue has high and low tables, and seats up to 88 guests. Plus, there are bright, bold murals and a window into an open kitchen.
Over his career, Reif has picked up numerous awards, from a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand to a place on the inaugural MENA 50 Best list. Given his past hospitality hits, we are expecting Hoe Lee Kow to be a success.
On Instagram, Reif shared: “Hoe Lee Kow was born from my years of travelling and learning about the food, the ingredients, the taste. A newbie to Korean cuisine, daring to take the risk to open a non-traditional, not even remotely authentic, interpretation of Korean cuisine. Doing what I do best, putting my own unconventional twist to everything I do.”
The restaurant in Dubai Hills Business Park is currently in a soft opening phase, and is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 6pm to 11pm, Friday from 6pm to midnight, Saturday from midday to midnight, and Sunday from midday to midnight.
